Most of the stock rpg mobs have their place in the Fallen Earth bestiary – wolves, rats, giant spiders and so on, as well as zombies (sort of) and any number of bandits and raiders.
Of the mobs unique to this game the most iconic must be the Praerie Chicken. Being mauled to death by angry poultry is not something you forget in a hurry. Better yet they could be purchased as mounts – and that has to be the only time in MMO history that a cash shop mount has ever been slower than the regular in-game mounts.
Creepers are another common mob type. They used to look like a cross between Elton John and a giant scorpion, but for some reason the model was changed years ago, and the new one is not nearly as bizarre looking.
My personal favourite though has to be the hermit crabs, who often use old CRT monitors as shells. It's a clever concept and brilliantly realised, right down to the hollow plastic clunk they make when they fall down dead, and there's something very thematically right about a mutated monster that inhabits, literally, the wreckage of the now vanished modern world.
